On the left bank of Red river and about 10 km from Hanoi in East (in Gia Lam District, Hanoi), there situated a pottery village, which is the most famous and long-standing pottery village in Vietnam for its name of Bat Trang. Up to present, Bat Trang Pottery Village has still been operating and developing ceaselessly. According to a legend, the village was first called as Bach Tho Phuong before its name was changed into Bat Trang Phuong. People in the village remember in their memory that the place of their origin Bo Bat Village (or called Bach Bat Village), Yen Mo District, Ninh Binh Province



Bat Trang Ceramic Village - Van Phuc Silk Village

Van Phuc Silk Village:
Just 15km to the west of Ha Noi is a place renowned over centuries for its silk-making and silk products - Van Phuc village in Ha Dong of former Ha Tay Province (Hanoi now)
In recent years, the village has enjoyed the revival of its craft due to a surging demand for silk in both the domestic and foreign markets.
It has long been a universal byword of luxury, often worn by the world’s richest, most powerful citizens, nowadays, the fine and lustrous cloth that originally comes from the cocoon of the silkworm is much more affordable for "ordinary" folk.
Silk is currently enjoying a fashion renaissance, particularly as its many varieties can be made into a wide range of designs suitable for all facets of modern life.

8:30am. Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi, driver to Bat Trang, the famous village is situated approx 15 outside of Hanoi, surrounded by fertile farmland. Watch the artisans forming, painting and glazing their products, which are then baked for several days in huge kilns.
12:00pm. Lunch at local restaurant!
1:30pm drive to discover full afternoon in the silk village of Van Phuc. Taking photos & shopping there until 4:30pm. Leaving Van Phuc Silk Village to hotel. Arrive hotel at 5:00pm. Finish the unforgettable trip at your hotel in Hanoi.
